Musical Bliss
I sit at the old piano
feeling its dusty, soft keys
my fingers poise themselves
to play this musical piece
Alone in the dim lit room
I let the music play
notes of A,G,C and B
resound loudly in the air
The quavers and crotchets
timed and rhythmically played
dance when I release them
they rise to the roof and fade
I close my eyes; slowly
and let my fingers do the work
my soul gets swept away
to a faraway, fantasy world.
I can play all night long
no one shall ever know
it is only me and my piano
enjoying this one man show
This is my world; this room
Here I sit, by this masterpiece
to feel its soft keys everyday
and keep life’s problems at bay.
